Porsche TAYCAN - Farghini Behind The WHEEL

Porsche Taycan - Farghini Behind the Wheel at the world premier in North America.  Porsche revealed their new fully electric car on 3 continents last week and Farshad was invited to join in on the festivities (they flew him out on their dime - full disclosure).  Staying on property at what is often mistaken as one of the 7 Wonders of the World - Niagara Falls (it’s the 8th wonder) Farshad was invited to interview, ask the important questions, and get into the drivers seat of the new Porsche Taycan Turbo & Porsche Taycan Turbo S.  

For those of you that have been following the channel you know Farshad has generally been a Mercedes AMG guy throughout most of his “car reviewing” career.  Pop Pops and growling aggressive torque and the sounds is his thing.  This car however is a game changer.

Last month Farshad reviewed both the Model X (    • Wrapped 2019 Tesla  Model X Review with Lu...   ) and experimented with Self-driving modes.  Today’s experience is markedly difference as the Porsche Taycan Turbo S is all about performance, road feel, feedback, and real sensations here.  No boring electric cars allowed (Tesla?)

Charging:
The Taycan is the first production vehicle with a system voltage of 800 volts instead of the usual 400 volts for electric cars. This is a particular advantage for Taycan drivers on the road: in just over five minutes, the battery can be recharged using direct current (DC) from the high-power charging network for a range of up to 100 kilometres (according to WLTP). The charging time for five to 80 percent SoC (state of charge) is 22.5 minutes for charging under ideal conditions, and the maximum charging power (peak) is 270 kW. The overall capacity of the Performance Battery Plus is 93.4 kWh. Taycan drivers can comfortably charge their cars with up to eleven kW of alternating current (AC) at home.
