This week’s tip gets into volume helical sweeps. This is a sweep feature that creates 3D geometry resembling a machining process. Basically, revolving a feature around a helical sweep to remove material from other geometry. Think about things like machined augers, drill bits, decorative or functional surface finishing, etc.
In this tip Todd Kraft shows you how to setup a couple volume helical sweeps and even shows you how to pattern a volume helical sweep to create really complex geometry.
