After my comments about the maps in Episode 3 running together in my brain, I will say that Sandy Petersen did a good job making these distinct from one another in Episode 4. I imagine I'd find them less of a slog running through them a second time, especially maps like The Pain Maze, which must be relatively straightforward once you know what you're doing, given the Steam achievement available for it (no damage on Nightmare).
The final "boss" of Shub-Niggurath is a disappointment, but at least the Shamblers and Vores keep things interesting in the lead up (as do the rotfish on Nightmare, I subsequently found!).
I will say this about Episode 4 though: fuck Spawns.
