We chose this little, but picturesque greek island for our early summer vacation this year. Poros (not Paros) is situated in the Saronic gulf and is reachable by ferry from the port of Pireaus. It's only an hour away with the fast ferries. In shoulder season it was peaceful and quiet and we had wonderful time.
