Aloha all! My name is Alexus and I am a third year PhD student in Biological Oceanography at University of Hawai'i at Mānoa. This "How To Apply To Graduate Programs" is the first video in our "How To" Graduate School Series.

In this video, I explain what graduate school is, what graduate students do, the differences between a Masters and a PhD, who should go to graduate school, how to fund your graduate career, the graduate school application process, how to choose a research (thesis or dissertation) topic, how to reach out to professors and potential advisors (PIs), and end with an example of a timeline that you can use to get started!
