This song is related to Harela Festival. Harela Festival is a famous and prominent festival of Uttarakhand. It is celebrated mostly in Kumaun region of Uttarakhand but in these days it is being celebrated in whole Uttarakhand with great ferver. Earlier it used to celebrate in only public domain but in these days Government Authorities are being involved in this festival. Mainly Forest department of Uttarakhand and Agriculture and Horticulture department is celebrating this festial.
This festival is mainly associated with nature, forest plantation and agriculture sector. People usually minimum one plant this day and pay their tribute and debt to the nature. This time this festival is being celebrated in a vast manner and the theam of this event is "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" this theam is provided by our very energetic Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and followed by our young Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami ji.
