APOI and the transition to Africa Sustainable Commodities Initiative (ASCI) has been a truly multi-stakeholder process from inception at every level – national, regional, and international. Each national platform formed a membership inclusive of national government, traditional leaders, local communities and Indigenous Peoples, donors, technical partners, investors, producers, manufacturers, traders, and many other stakeholders.

The APOI national team in Ghana are supporting sustainable palm oil by training extension officers from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in Best Management Practices. These practices will help farmers obtain a greater yield and reduce the need to convert land for palm oil cultivation.
