Feroza would smile at her mother’s fears, brushing them off like dust. Once she accidentally collided with a man—a teacher. She began to see him in dreams, then in waking illusions. Then one day, without a word, Master Aamir stopped coming to her field. He had returned—married. His wife walked beside him through the field. Feroza met them and her soul hollowing with every step he took away from her. Her illusions shattered. Her heart, once so full, now bled quietly inside her.
