💡Key Takeaways
God still performs miracles and heals today, consistently demonstrating His power as He is "the same yesterday, today, and forever."
-We must reject a "performance-based gospel" and accept that God's answers to prayer, though sometimes mysterious, are rooted in grace, not our good deeds.
Jesus actively moves towards pain and suffering, drawing near to the brokenhearted and offering His presence in times of trouble.
-Delay in an answer to prayer is not necessarily denial, as God's timing is perfect and often interwoven with His greater plan.
Authentic prayer involves coming to God with our genuine desperation, trusting that He responds to our true selves even when the outcome isn't what we expect.

Does God still heal today? This question is more than a theological debate—it’s a personal cry for anyone experiencing sickness, emotional pain, or spiritual brokenness. In this sermon, we explore what the Bible says about healing and how God's miraculous power is still active in our lives today.
The Bible clearly shows us that God’s nature does not change. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead, parted the Red Sea, and brought healing to countless lives in the New Testament is still at work today through the Holy Spirit. There is no scriptural evidence that God stopped performing miracles. His heart for healing remains just as strong.
But what about when we pray and don’t see results? Many wrestle with unanswered prayers for healing. The truth is: healing isn’t earned. We don't receive healing because we’ve been good enough or prayed the right words. Healing is always a work of grace, not performance. Prayer isn’t about controlling outcomes—it’s about trusting a loving Father who walks with us in our suffering.
In Mark chapter 5, we encounter two life-changing healing stories: Jairus, a desperate father begging Jesus to save his dying daughter, and a bleeding woman who had suffered for twelve years. With one intentional act of faith—touching Jesus’s robe—she was instantly healed. These stories reveal a Savior who doesn’t avoid pain—Jesus moves toward it.
Even when God delays, it doesn’t mean He’s saying no. Delay is not denial. God’s timing is perfect and purposeful. It may grow our faith, align us with His bigger plan, or bring about healing in unexpected ways. Consider this: the woman suffered for 12 years, and Jairus’s daughter was 12 years old. God’s plan often unfolds with divine precision.
So why do we still pray for healing today? Because prayer is connection. It’s how we express our need, our dependence, and our trust in God’s sovereignty. Healing may not always come instantly, but for every believer, complete healing—body, soul, and spirit—is promised in eternity.
