I took the Seneca Aspen .22 Multi-pump PCP rifle back to Texas on a jackrabbit hunt, and found it to be a lot more rifle than I was expecting. The rifle generated consistent power, efficient utilization of air, and was a breeze to pump back up.
Unlike traditional pump action air rifles, the Aspen crosses the line between pumper and PCP, allowing the onboard pump to fill a reservoir with enough pressurized air to put out 10-15 pellets before a refill is needed.
The result is a solid hunting rifle that is free of the constraints of a filling station. This is a great air rifle for backpacking, travel, or any other activity where transporting a lot of charging gear is not practical.
The hunt was at the Lone Star Trails / Huckaby ranch. This property has great populations of whitetail and mule deer, javalina, and exotics for your big bores, and lots of jackrabbits for small game hunting in between.
The Aspen was very accurately, and I found that I could shoot it well from virtually any field position. The handle of the cocking lever turned out to facilitate accurate shooting rather than being an interference as I'd expected.
Come along on the trip, and let me know if you have any questions or comments!
