As Christmas approaches, the drinks industry is seeing a marginal growth in sales. CGA's latest report reveals a positive trend in the first half of November, with an average of 2.3% and 0.5% growth in sales compared to the same period in 2024.
The rise in sales is attributed to various factors, including Bonfire Night celebrations, football fixtures, and the start of Christmas markets. However, the arrival of Storm Claudia impacted sales in some regions, especially on November 14th, with an 8.2% drop year-on-year.
Live sports events have been a significant driver for alcoholic drinks, with beer and cider sales showing impressive growth. Soft drinks also experienced a positive fortnight. On the other hand, spirits and wine sales saw a slight decline.
