Teach it Tuesday: Halloween Pumpkin tutorial!

Today for Teach it Tuesday, we'll be decorating Halloween Pumpkins! We've got a scary Monster with a Mohawk, Queen Elsa and a Princess with hair and royal scepters!

Materials:
*3 plastic pumpkins
*I Love this Yarn in black, white, gray, and mohawk color, light purple, dark purple, turquoise, ivory, and white
*Size E and H hooks
*Small piece of cardboard cut to 2”
*Tape measurer
*Tapestry needle
*Scissors

Abbreviations:
Ch- chain
BB- back bump
Sc- single crochet
Scdec- single crochet decrease
Dc- double crochet
Hdc- half double crochet
Tr- trebble crochet
Mp- mini picot
Slst- slip stitch

Monster Eye- With Black, White, Gray Mist, and an E hook
Starting with Black
Round 1: Mc, ch1 and place 6sc inside ring, slst to join. (6)
Round 2: ch 1, 2sc in each stitch around, slst to join. (12) Tie off and weave in ends.
Switch to White
Round 3: ch 1, (sc in next stitch, 2sc) around, slst to join. (18)
Round 4: ch 1, (sc in next 2 stitches, 2sc) around, slst to join. (24)
Round 5: ch 1, (sc in next 3 stitches, 2sc) around, slst to join. (30)
Round 6: ch 1, (sc in next 4 stitches, 2sc) around, slst to join. (36)
Round 7: ch 1, (sc in next 5 stitches, 2sc) around, slst to join. (42)
Round 8-12: ch1, sc around, slst to join. (42) Tie off and weave in ends.
Switch to Gray Mist
Round 13: ch1, (sc in next 5 stitches, scdec) around, slst to join. (36)
Round 14: ch1, (sc in next 4 stitches, scdec) around, slst to join. (30)
Round 15: ch1, (sc in next 3 stitches, scdec) around, slst to join. (24)
Round 16: ch1, (sc in next 2 stitches, scdec) around, slst to join. (18)
Round 17-22: ch1, sc around, slst to join. Tie off and weave in ends. (18) Stuff eye.

Crown: With Pink or Light Purple and an H hook
Row 1: ch41, hdc in the BB of 2nd chain from hook and each BB across. Slst to first hdc to join. (don’t forget to sew up the little hole. (40) Now working in continuous rounds.
Round 2-4: ch1, hdc in same stitch and each stitch around. Slst to join. (40)
Round 5: ch1, dc in same stitch and next 3 stitches. *Place (2dc, mp, 2dc) in the next stitch, dc in next 4 stitches. Repeat from * around. Slst to join. Tie off and weave in ends.

Snowflake (make 2): With White and an E hook

Crown: With Light Purple or turquoise and an H hook
Row 1: ch41, hdc in the BB of 2nd chain from hook and each BB across. Slst to first hdc to join. (don’t forget to sew up the little hole. (40) Now working in continuous rounds.
Round 2-4: ch1, hdc in same stitch and each stitch around. Slst to join. (40)
Round 5: ch1, dc in same stitch and next 3 stitches. *Place (2dc, mp, 2dc) in the next stitch, dc in next 4 stitches. Repeat from * around. Slst to join. Tie off and weave in ends.

Bow (make 2): With Dark Purple and an H hook
Row 1: MC, place all of the following in the MC, (ch3, 4tr, ch3, slst, ch3, 4tr, ch3, slst) Pull ring tight and tie off leaving a long tail. Wrap your tail around center of bow several times to cinch it. Sew one bow on to crown, and glue the other on to a straw.
