The world-famous Bargarh Dhanu Yatra, recognized as the largest open-air theatrical festival in the world, was held from December 24, 2025, to January 3, 2026 (11 days). It reenacts the mythological story of Lord Krishna's life, from his birth to the slaying of demon king Kansa, transforming the entire town of Bargarh into ancient Mathura, the nearby Ambapali into Gopapura, and the Jeera River into the Yamuna.
