Introitus, the debut demo from Finnish experimental black metal duo Circle of Ouroborus, was independently released in 2004 as a limited-edition cassette, is a beginning of an long journey. This raw and enigmatic work introduces the band’s idiosyncratic blend of lo-fi black metal, post-punk influences, and atmospheric minimalism. Formed by Antti Klemi (vocals) and Rauta (instruments), the duo crafts a sound that is both haunting and unconventional, marked by droning guitars, repetitive melodic hooks, and Klemi’s distinctive, almost detached vocal delivery—often compared to a nasally monotone reminiscent of punk icons like Joey Ramone or Ian Curtis.
