In the mid '50's BMW stunned the automotive world when it introduced a pair of sensational grand touring coupes and convertibles the 503 and 507. They were designed by Albrecht Goertz (Gertz) who would later shape the Nissan 240-Z. The press said that BMW had "beaten the Italians at their own game." The very stylish and elegant cars were too expensive for most.
Only 252, 507's and 412, 503's were built between 1956 and 1959. A few lucky owners had bought one of the most attractive BMW's ever built.
