Sampled a kick into the Casio RZ-1 and built a beat around it, running everything through a cheap Mackie mixer for some grit and saturation.
Added a few chords in Ableton for contrast and Akai MIDI Mix to tweak things live.
After a few jams tries, this is what came out.

This modded Casio RZ-1 is one of my favorite drum machines, I love its character, it barely needs any processing to sound great. It comes loaded with several kits from other classic drum machines, which makes it more versatile. The sampling time is still limited to just 0.8s, so it still remains super limited.
