Over the past 20 years, the International Actuarial Association (IAA) has given significant input to the development of the International Financial Reporting Standard 17, Insurance Contracts (IFRS 17) and has gained significant insight into the challenges and key approaches of reporting under IFRS 17 and the role of the actuary in that reporting process.
As part of IAA’s support for implementation of IFRS 17, the IAA published ISAP 4 (model International Standard of Actuarial Practice on IFRS 17) for its members associations to consider and an International Actuarial Note (IAN 100) and several monographs for actuaries (and other professionals).
In this webinar the IAA presenters Derek Wright, Chair of the IAA Insurance Accounting Committee, and Micheline Dionne, President-Elect and Chair of the IAA ISAP 4 Task Force will share the work done by the IAA. Dora Leal, Senior Manager at EY, will share some of her experiences in the IFRS 17 implementation projects, highlight the main challenges, and the key lessons learned so far.
