Woodturning - Acorn - 10 Minute Turning Projects #01. (Turning sounds, no music)

Hello and welcome! This video will hopefully be the first in a series of simple woodturning projects. The aim is to build a playlist of quick and easy ideas, no more than 10-15 minutes to complete, that every turner can try no matter their skill level. Ever since I started woodturning I have sought out videos like this for inspiration, now I feel like would like to contribute, so here it is. No music, just the sounds of wood and high speed steel, my favourite!

10 Minute turning project. #01 - Acorn.

For this I used a piece of beech wood. The blank was already round so that helped to quicken the process.
I used a 3/8ths bowl gouge and a 1/4" Parting/Beading tool.

I would suggest using a longer piece of wood to avoid having to work so close to the chuck like I did here.

Once shaped I sanded 120 - 180 - 240 and cut off with a pull saw. Off camera I then quickly hit the stem on the belt sander to create the angle.
