Why Fiberglass Fails in Attics: Cellulose + Foam Done Right 💪
In this video, we show you why fiberglass batts fail in knee walls and how cellulose insulation combined with foam board and closed cell foam makes a huge difference in protecting your home.
🏠 In many attics, temperatures reach 130°F or higher, while your home is a cool 70°F. That 60° delta T creates a massive driving force for heat to push into your living space. Fiberglass batts just don’t cut it in these conditions.
✅ At Advanced Thermal Concepts, we use foam board with radiant barrier + cellulose (Greenfiber) sprayed over closed cell foam. This creates a thermal break, stops heat transfer through studs, and locks out attic air that fiberglass can’t stop.
⚡ Bottom line: don’t put fiberglass in your knee walls. If you want real energy efficiency and year-round comfort, cellulose + foam is the way to go.
