Virtavia Handley-Page Hampden - A nice surprise! Fun over Old Warden - Microsoft Flight Simulator

Today we’re taking the brand-new Handley Page Hampden by Virtavia up for a short sunset display over Burning Blue’s fantastic Old Warden.

The Hampden came as a nice surprise today. After a bad experience with the Tigercat and not very convincing pictures and reviews of the other aircraft Virtavia has released in MSFS so far, I planned to wait for review videos before I purchase another aircraft by them. But when I saw the pictures and read the features list of the Hampden the temptation was just too high. And I’m very happy to say, that I’m very positively surprised by it.

The visual model is more detailed than the ones of previous releases and the virtual cockpit looks great. The flight model is fun and feels convincing with very heavy ailerons and wings that produce a lot of lift. There are multiple variants and a lot more liveries than on previous releases. The sounds aren’t perfect, the transitions between the rpm ranges are very abrupt, but overall I quite enjoy them. Overall, it’s far from perfect, but very enjoyable and it’s great to have this unusual RAF bomber in the sim.
