Mercedes EQC 400 review | Is the first electric Merc good enough?

This is the Mercedes EQC… or the EQC 400 4Matic AMG-Line in full. It has 400PS, 760Nm of torque and four-wheel drive. Driven by a pair of electric motors, one on each axle, and can do 112mph and 0-62mph in 5.1 seconds.
It is the first electric car from Mercedes, although looking at it, other than a few hints, you wouldn’t know it was much other than a standard SUV. The Mercedes EQC enters a strong market, with Audi already established with the e-tron, Tesla having had the Model X out for several years and BMW getting ready to release the iX in the next few years.
So the main question is, is this a good enough start from Mercedes? Or do they still have some work to do for the next electric car with a three pointed star? We drove the EQC 400 to find out on a particularly sodden day.
