Lacrosse endgame offensive strategy is all about creating high-quality scoring opportunities under pressure, and Maryland executed it perfectly in this OT thriller. We’ll break down how Matthew Keegan capitalized on a defensive mistake, using smart positioning and dodging technique to secure the game-winner.
Let's talk lacrosse offensive strategy. We're going to look at Maryland's Matthew Keegan scoring the game winner in the Terps OT victory over Loyola. Keegan dodges his man through X, up the left side of the field. The help defender comes at Keegan with a poor approach and he simply runs through the dodge on the high side, turns his hips and gets off the game winning shot. An excellent example of "dodging through the help". Also a very poor example of how to approach a player you are sliding to. The defender should have slid to the "high side" more cutting off Keegan's attack angle and forcing him off of his path and further away from the cage.
Our Lacrosse Film Review series is geared towards breaking down lacrosse film and outlining gameplay strategies. We cover lacrosse offense, lacrosse defense, lacrosse transition play and more.
