In this episode of my "Let's Save" series, we look at the Atari Jaguar and what I think it needed to do differently in order to compete with its much stronger rivals.

Episode Notes:
1. Silicon Graphics would also help Nintendo develop the N64. I feel it was a natural choice for an American company to go that route earlier.
2. Atari Games was the arcade division that was a separate entity from Atari Corp.
3. I feel Atari's only path forward was to strongly focus on console technology that was ahead of the curve in NA/Europe. Nintendo already had the 8-bit generation sewn up.
4. Atari also needed a better pack-in game for the Jag. A 2.5D Scrapyard Dog sequel should have worked.
5. Since my Jag would have a CD built in from the beginning, there is no need for a later add on.
6. I really felt Atari needed the resources from the 7800 and Lynx to focus on a more brand defining 16-bit console. The Panther was needed to get a foothold in NA and Europe ASAP, plus it was needed to cultivate the 3rd party support the Jaguar would so desperately need a few years later.
7. I feel there was no reality where the Jaguar could have succeeded if that architecture and controller had remained intact.
