Today we are making a dessert out on the grill! We are cooking Peach Dumplings. This is the perfect summer time dessert. We start off by making our syrup. Combine water, butter, cinnamon, sugar and a pinch of nutmeg. Combine and reduce to form a syrup. Next we start peeling and halving our peaches. Make sure to get the pits out. Take two peach halves and place them on a piece of pie crust big enough to wrap around them. Sprinkle each with cinnamon sugar. We used store bought but you can make your own. Wet the edges with some water and wrap the peaches up and place in a pan. Once you get all your dumpling made pour the syrup over the top. Place on a 400*-425* grill and cook until golden brown. Once ready, serve with vanilla ice cream and top with pan syrup.
Ingredients
4 whole peaches
2 pie crusts
Cinnamon Sugar
1 ½ cups water
2 TBS butter
⅔ cup sugar
1 TSP cinnamon
Pinch of nutmeg
Directions
Combine water, sugar, butter, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Heat until butter and sugar dissolve. Continue cooking until a syrup is formed.
Peel peaches and remove pits. Cut in half.
Place two peach halves onto a section of pie crust
Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and wrap
Place dumplings in a pan. Top with syrup
Place on a 400*-425* grill
Cook until golden brown
Once done, serve with vanilla ice cream and extra pan syrup
