I love evenings railfanning! This location is between WB Junction and Norborne.
Train 1.
NS 272 is running a little earlier today and has a decent 61 loads.
Train 2.
A BNSF ethanol train is 13 minutes behind the autorack and has 89 tanks and 3 buffer cars powered by 3 units, 1 in dp.
Train 3.
This train kind of confuses me. I think it might be a NYCLAC train but it usually has some marine containers mixed with the domestic biz. Before the recession, thurs-sunday there used to be 3 pigs due out of WSP midday, an SBD1, NYCLAC1, and STO8. Lately there has been only 2, with the San Bernadino traffic combined with the NYC-LAC. But this day I caught 3, 1 at 5:32pm, this one, and at 7:14, just like old days! I'm pretty sure the last one is the STO8, and the 5:32 was a SBD train, making this NYC traffic. The trailers look like NYC stuff. Anyways, it was good to see 3 evening Z's through here!
Train 4.
The Stockton, CA train is next, blasting by at track speed.
Train 5.
After the WB pig train an EB Z came by, followed closely by this NS triple crown. This is the run-through from Dallas, TX and runs to Ft. Wayne, IN where many of these trailers will be sent to other destinations east on other trains. 128 trailers is a good sized train, and apparently this is the only EB departure out of K.C. on Saturdays.
Train 6.
An interesting tank train is next. Immediately the buffer cars tell me its ethanol, but the ADM marks are interesting. I didn't know ADM did ethanol, so maybe it isn't. Whatever it is, they are loads.
Train 7 and 8.
These are ballast trains, Im not sure where from. The first train has older BNSF cars, while the second is Herzog.
Hope you all enjoy
