Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered Vs. OG Oblivion - The Ultimate Comparison Gameplay Video in 4K!

Oblivion Remastered was masterfully done. Almost a 1 to 1 port to the Unreal Engine 5.

I played the original game back in 2006. While it was the successor of Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, it wasn't originally well received. The oblivion portals and excursions into Oblivion were repetitive with very little difference between the various areas inside Oblivion. The game slowly continued to gain some traction with gamers and was later better received. In light my many many years of gaming, I can look back on Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion with a new appreciation of the game. Now that it has been ported to the Unreal Engine 5 in such a fantastic way, I have a new appreciation for the game. Bethesda Softworks has created some of the most iconic games of all time. Skyrim being some would argue, the most iconic game of all time. At least in regards to roll playing games are concerned. Now we wait for either another port (Morrowind) to Unreal Engine 5 or the long long awaited release of Elder Scrolls VI. For now we have some kind of Elder Scrolls game to dig deep into, even if it is somewhere we have all been before.

The game's performance was not much different from other Unreal Engine 5 games and that is to say it isn't well optimized. It is playable on some high end hardware at 4k and max settings. I suppose we mustn't complain and should be grateful we even get the port.

The interface has changed some and for good reason. In my playthrough of the original game again, I found the UI lacking and poorly done. The UI changes in Remastered are welcome. The map is where the biggest improvements are found. The old map had no way to zoom in and out and this was added to the Remastered version.

I am having a great deal of fun playing through this game again with beautiful graphics. It is a welcome visit from the past.
