This "sonatine" in three movements is reminiscent of sonatas of the Classical period, but its beautiful sound is definitely from the Impressionist period. The three movements are typically fast, slow, fast, with the final movement presenting the most technical challenges. Still, this piece is considerably easier than Ravel's notoriously difficult works. In fact, this is undoubtedly why it is a favorite of so many amateur (and professional) pianists. Note: My original recording of this piece was not done very well. This October 2025 version replaces it.
