There’s something special about slow summer evenings — when the pace softens, the light glows, and the little things feel like everything.
In this video, I’m sharing my calming summer evening routine — the real-life version. From walking our garden to harvest fresh veggies, to dinner as a family, a peaceful creek walk with the kids, a 10-minute tidy, and a few quiet moments of self-care before bed.
It’s not perfect, but it’s peaceful. And I hope it gives you a warm reminder to slow down, take care of yourself, and find beauty in the simple moments.

Grilled Lemon Pepper Wings
These wings are light, flavorful, and perfect for a summer evening! Here’s how I make them:
Ingredients:
• 2 lbs chicken wings (drums & flats)
• 1½ tbsp olive oil
• 1½ tsp lemon zest
• 2 tbsp lemon juice
• 1½ tsp cracked black pepper
• 1 tsp garlic + onion powder
• ¾ tsp salt
• Optional: 1 tbsp melted butter and fresh parsley for finishing
Instructions:
1. Preheat grill to medium heat (around 375–400°F).
2. In a bowl, add olive oil, lemon zest, lemon juice, pepper, garlic powder, and salt. Brush on wings or toss in bowl until fully coated.
3. Grill wings for 20–25 minutes, turning occasionally, until nicely charred and cooked through (internal temp of 165°F).
4. Optional: Toss with a little melted butter for extra richness before serving.
5. Serve hot with extra lemon wedges and a sprinkle of fresh pepper.
So simple and so good for warm nights outside!
Amy’s Italian Chopped Salad -
Ingredients:
• 2 hearts of romaine, chopped
• 1 cup canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed
• 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
• 1 cup cucumber, sliced or diced
• ½ cup Kalamata olives, pitted and halved
• ¼ cup sliced pepperoncini
• ¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
• Handful of fresh basil leaves, torn or sliced thin
Simple Pepperoncini Dressing:
• 3 tbsp olive oil
• 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
• 1 tbsp pepperoncini juice (from the jar)
• 1 tsp Dijon mustard
• Salt & black pepper to taste
