Peak Old School RARE Kinda Game - Spoiler-Free Donkey Kong Bananza Review

Donkey Kong Bananza might just be the best Nintendo Switch 2 game yet. While Mario Kart World underdelivered, DK returned with a game that feels like a mix of oldschool Rare charm and Super Mario Odyssey magic.

In this full Donkey Kong Bananza review, I break down why this game blew me away. From the amazing Bananza abilities to the worldbuilding and lore that rivals even Zelda, this game has everything: exploration, secrets, destruction, humor, and even rewarding endgame content.

⚡ The good:
Snappy controls, fun combat, hilarious expressions
Tons of secrets, costumes, skins, and lore
Huge variety in levels, never boring
One of the best endings in a Nintendo game

⚠️ The bad:
Bosses are too easy
Framerate dips in chaotic moments

But even with these flaws, Donkey Kong Bananza might be Nintendo’s best 3D game since Xenoblade 3. It’s charming, it’s creative, and it proves that Donkey Kong deserves more love from Nintendo going forward.
