To freely handle or manipulate an opponent. Kamae to, stepping back with the left foot so that it is on the same line as the lead while turned back at a forty five degree angle. The kashira is one fist width distance from the right hip with the tip directed between the eyes of the opponent. The uke should only be able to see the kissaki and neither the Ha nor Mune. This way they are unable to judge the length of the weapon or distance. Keep the hips low with a 60/40 weight distribution. The left arm is pulled back deeply as the body is bladed completely.
