Solitude Park is right in the center of Banbridge Town. It once was part of the railway line which ran between Banbridge and Newcastle on the Co. Down Coast. Sadly the railway has long since gone in this part of Northern Ireland.
On the up side though, the Park is now a great amenity for relaxing with the beautiful River Bann running though it. The amphitheatre is used for plays and concerts at various times of the year. Even some churches would use it for their services during the summer months.
A recent addition was the skateboard Park where many young people and children can spend hours perfecting their skills.
We are grateful to Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for maintaining this wonderful facility right on our doorstep.
