SIR Effect On Enclave: After the first phase, Election Commission Of India has declared second phase of SIR in 12 states and UTs. These includes West Bengal, Tamil Nādu, Gujarat, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Puducherry.
Already the enumeration forms have been rolled out through the BLOs across door to door. In West Bengal this work has been started from 4th of November, 2025. Now, the question has arisen, in case of Bengal, what papers or documents, the people of Enclaves along the India-Bangladesh borders are going to show with the enumeration forms.
162 enclaves, were handed over to India and Bangladesh, in 2015 under a treaty, which broke the long pending deadlock of these lands. Now the question is will the people be in problem after this?
