Goldhap Refugee Camp was located in the Jhapa district of eastern Nepal. It was established in the early 1990s to shelter thousands of Lhotshampa (Nepali-speaking) refugees who were forced to leave Bhutan due to political and ethnic tensions. The camp provided basic facilities like schools, health clinics, and food distribution centers. Over time, especially after 2010, most of the refugees were resettled in countries like the USA, Canada, and Australia through international programs. Today, Goldhap stands as a historical site that reflects the struggles, resilience, and journey of a displaced community.
