In the Egyptian Museum you can discover the fascinating cultures of ancient Egypt and Nubia. The tour takes you past impressive royal paintings and sculptures to the three original sacrificial chambers of the Old Kingdom, which give you an understanding of the architecture of this era. On the main floor, the focus is on round sculptures and private figures that provide an insight into everyday and spiritual life. An absolute highlight is the world-famous bust of Queen Nefertiti, which is prized for its timeless beauty. The tour ends in the “Library of Antiquity”, a collection that sheds light on the development of written culture from the ancient Egyptian to the late antique era.

Museum of Prehistory and Early History
The Museum of Prehistory and Early History presents an impressive collection of archaeological finds that trace cultural history from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages. The exhibition covers Europe and parts of Asia, from North Africa to Scandinavia. On the first floor, you will find themed rooms on topics such as Norse mythology and Trojan antiquities. The second floor is dedicated to the archaeology of the Roman provinces, while the second floor takes you back to the Stone Age, Bronze Age and pre-Roman Iron Age. The Neanderthal skull from Le Moustier is particularly noteworthy. The collection is complemented by exhibits from the Collection of Classical Antiquities, which are also on display in the Altes Museum and the Pergamonmuseum.
