40-To draw transverse or internal common tangents to two unequal circles | Class 10 | geometry

Steps of Construction:
1. Join the centers O and O'.
2. Find mid-point M of OO' by drawing perpendicular bisector of OO'.
3.Taking point M as Centre and radius equal to mMO=MO'draw a circle.
4. Draw another circle with O as Centre and radius equal to r+r', cutting
the circle with Centre M at points P and Q.
5. Join O with P and Q. OP and OQ meet the first circle with radius r at Points A and B .
6. Draw O' Q'∥(OPand O' P'∥OQ.
7. Join A with B' and A' with B so that AB' and A'Bare the required common tangents.
