Allen-Bradley PLC programming, the Retentive Timer On (RTO) instruction is used to track elapsed time, even when the rung condition transitions from true to false, meaning the accumulated time is retained. Unlike the TON (Timer On) instruction, the RTO timer continues timing from where it left off when the rung condition becomes true again.
