Rachmaninov wrote one of the most sublime melodies in his 2nd Symphony and I wanted to play in on the harp! The whole symphony shows the composers genius in melody and was written in 1907 after a period of solitude and depression. It is one of my favourite pieces of music and I was delighted to make this opening theme work so beautifully for the harp. I got so much joy out of playing this that I have even adapted my arrangement for lever harp.
