Since Final Fantasy 7 Remake is now out, I'm uploading this video from 2015 here since many video game music fans seem to still visit. It was a great experience to make this album with Casey, the musicians and all the other talented people involved.

Some notes about this track from Casey:
The two themes in this track are interacting to create a new angle on a story that many gamers are familiar with. The concept title for this track was AVALANCHE, the name of the Eco-terrorist insurgent group, who are trying to destroy a reactor that is literally sucking the life out of the Planet. Barret’s drive to save the Planet was formed during his time at Cosmo Canyon, a spiritual place where one can gain an understanding of how the life energy of all things is connected.
In the original soundtrack, “Opening Bombing Mission” is a hectic, pulse pounding introduction to the world of Final Fantasy VII. “Cosmo Canyon”, by contrast, is a calm and introspective piece. By combining these two themes, we see two sides of Barret - a man who wants peace, and a man who has resigned himself to violence in order to achieve that peace. In this arrangement, the structure of “Opening Bombing Mission” is largely unchanged, with the added motifs of Cosmo Canyon floating over the top of the furious piano bass. The acoustic guitar connects us to the Cosmo Canyon theme proper, while the valourous trumpet transports the listener to Barret’s past. The energy of the first track persists, shifting into a Western style, driven by the familiar triplet piano bass. A brief interlude is followed by a climax that takes us back to the present, and the bombing mission at hand. For AVALANCHE, there is no turning back.
