It's the 2 year update on the spring ecosphere! We take a look at how the huge 2.5 Gallon / 10 liter spring ecosphere is doing. This project started with pond water and some aquarium plants being placed in an airtight jar. And so this closed ecosystem was born. It housed a lot of different animals. There's still quite some plants and animals left in this closed ecosystem, but not as many as before. That has to do with the development of an ecosystem. I explain how a new ecosystem finds balance. By doing that it often trades biodiversity for efficiency and balance.
