In this video we show you the rarest police package of them all...the 1962 Chrysler Enforcer! Yes Mother Mopar made a Chrysler police package car back in the day. The California Highway Patrol used these in 1962 only because of Chrysler's weird product planning for 1962. CHP required a 122 inch wheelbase on all cars they ordered and when Dodge and Plymouth downsized in 1962 CHP was stuck without a Mopar to buy. So they made the decision to buy the "luxury" Chrysler cars with a bunch of little modifications just for CHP. They ordered 1,221 cars in 1962 so the order was very important for the Chrysler corporation, that was a lot of cars. Also a lot of other agencies would copy CHP so they would get a ton of piggy back orders from that as well. A lot of good history and info on what makes these great cars to unique in this video, certified speedos, cop only 383-4 motor, etc, etc. Also in the video we go into a little Washington State Patrol history around this time as they also ordered a few 1962 Chrysler Enforcers.
This particular car came out of a wrecking yard near Craig, Colorado and survived in pretty good shape. We just bought a huge NOS parts business and lost a few indoor parking spaces so it's time to let a few of our rare police package Mopar's go down the road. Hopefully we can find a good home for this one!
