About Gabe Kaplan:
Gabe Kaplan is an American comedian, actor, poker commentator, and professional poker player. After a brief dream of baseball, he turned to stand‑up in New York clubs, using hilarious tales of his Brooklyn youth. He gained fame co‑creating and starring in the 1975–79 sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter as the lovable teacher, Gabe Kotter. Kaplan transitioned into movies like Fast Break (1979) and later became a respected poker pro, winning the Super Bowl of Poker, and co-hosting GSN’s High Stakes Poker.
