Have you ever wondered what lives on the subantarctic islands south of Stewart Island, New Zealand? They are not featured on many NZ maps, yet their biodiversity is spectacularly unique, with a variety of endemic species on each of the island groups.
Just like on mainland New Zealand, the species that call the subantarctic islands home had no adaptations to the introduced mammals that came with human arrival.
In this webinar that our co-founders, Anna Wentsch and Callum Armstrong, presented for Bay Conservation Alliance, we share the conservation stories, human history, biodiversity facts, and predator-free status of 3 island groups: The Snares, Campbell Island, and Auckland Islands.
