Frederique Knits Episode 8: From fleece to yarn

Hi everyone,
Finally, the episode that I filmed over the summer months is finally finished.
This time, I'm taking you through the whole process from fleece to yarn.
I had a lot of fun making this episode, so you'll see me sorting, picking, washing, drying, carding and combing the wool, dizzing it off the carding brushes or comb to get a nice roving, and of course, you'll see me spinning the yarn and showing off the 2-ply skeins I produced.

The yarn I spun is from a Blue Texel sheep (or at least that's my best guess, as the farmer didn't tell me the brown sheep's breed) from my neighbour Tom's flock. I got the fleece at sheering time during the summer, together with that of a Suffolk sheep. After I had washed (scoured) the Suffolk fleece and started processing it, I decided it would be great to record my learning experience and share it on this channel. This video is the result!
