The Saga pattern is a distributed transaction management pattern used to maintain data consistency across multiple independent microservices — without using two-phase commit (2PC).

Instead of one big transaction, a Saga breaks it into a sequence of smaller local transactions, each managed by a single service.
If any step fails, the system runs compensating transactions to undo the previous successful steps.
