In this video I restore a Montblanc Safetey No. 1 fountain pen (Sicherheitsfüllhalter).
The fountain pen was produced between 1920 and 1929. All parts, except the nib (14 carat gold) of course, were made of black hard rubber.
The hard rubber has turned brown over the years and formed a dull slightly rough surface.
