Creative Health Education Review: how the arts are being integrated into medical, nursing, pharmacy, and allied health education.
Dr Ranjita Dhital Dhital (University College London) and Dr Claire Howlin, PhD (Trinity College Dublin) shared their findings from their comprehensive Creative Health Education Review funded by Arts Council England and supported by the Royal Society for Public Health.
The session included an overview of how visual and performing arts are currently being integrated into medical, nursing, pharmacy and allied health education curriculum, and how these are being used to inform learning outcomes. A great session for educators particularly interested in teaching creative health to healthcare students!
The session also included these additional speakers to add context to the work:
Dr. Hannah Waterson - Research and Policy Manager, NCCH
Prof. Louise Younie, GP and Professor of Medical Education at Queen Mary University of London. Louise is also Co-lead of the RCGP GP Special Interest Group for Creative Health, and member of the RSPH Arts and Health Special Interest Group.
