Well I was never able to catch CNW 8701 leading the ballast train back west as it unexpectedly came back through in the middle of the night. So here is the compilation of what I had left.

2:33 PM: WRVELB-28 (Roseville to Elsey Pit ballast train, 2nd section of the 28th)

CNW 8701 (C44-9W)
+64 ballast empties
James Horseshoe Curve - Cherokee, CA
4:12 PM: I didn't have my camera ready when this eastbound military train came thru Oroville, so I chased it up to James siding. It was most likely headed to the Sierra Army Depot in Herlong, CA.
