And here is the last of the Tetris 99 skins you can get with Tetris Tickets. By clearing daily challenges, you can get up to two per day for the free version (insofar as you also have to subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online for it), or you can get four per day if you paid for the Big Box DLC pack. Of course, each skin is 15 Tickets, so you can't just unlock them all the time, or even every day, at least unless you accumulate these for later.
Well, the last of the skins for now. Tetris 99 has a lot of people playing, so I hope there will be more. At the top of my list, I'd like to see a Wild West theme.
As you could probably deduce from the name, Galaxy's got a space theme going on. (And no, I'm not requesting a Woody-and-Buzz duology hoping for a Wild West theme.) Also, of course, a legacy space traveler theme. The background is a very colorful journey through a nebula full of stars, attacking people sends rockets to their playfields, and KOed players are depicted as holographic screens, with white ones being normal KOs and yellow ones being KOs you did yourself. Badges take the form of metal purple wings that, well, look like the badges you'd see on some fictional defense force officers' uniforms. Various spacey sounds litter the audio, of course, which are rather generic and difficult to describe, and while it's one of the weaker sound packages in this game, if you ask me, it's coherent and fits the theme. Some of the line clear sounds do sound like steel drums though.
Oh yeah, and if you're wondering what happened to yesterday's video, this was supposed to be it, but I got preoccupied with Pokémon HOME and understanding how it works. I was originally going to put up a video of me learning the ropes of it and how to use it, but it wasn't very interesting, and a lot of it took place offscreen in the form of updating Pokémon Bank.
Match #1
Skin: Galaxy
Mode: Normal
I made a lot of mistakes in this one, but I feelmy biggest mistake was playing so late at night. You could probably see it in my somewhat dulled reflexes. I was still able to make a 13-combo that...ultimately KOed no one, as everyone at that point would probably be good enough to withstand even very large garbage attacks. Of course, considering that KOing someone means the match is over, I should be above the median the moment I get my second KO.
Match #2
Skin:Galaxy
Mode: Normal
When the 39th person had been eliminated, I was already responsible for 6 of them! However, until very late in, every KO I had was alow-yield opponent, so some other people overtook me in Badges and gave me a fierce fight anyway. That, and I encountered quite a drought after that. But I think I'm pretty good at holding on...at least until I make an incorrect judgment call and everything comes piling up and then crashing down. That's okay though. I don't call myself a Tetris pro or anything; I enter every match in Tetris 99 expecting to lose.
Match #3
Skin: Galaxy
Mode: Invictus
Here's where you get to see what it looks like when all the Tetriminos move faster and you got those five gold stars at the top. Not my best run though, so here's some music from Cel Damage as I speed things up.
