PQRS stands for Plasser's Quick Relaying System, which is a semi-mechanised method of track renewal in railways. PQRS uses self-propelled cranes that move on an auxiliary track parallel to the track to be relayed. The cranes can lift and replace old rails and sleepers with new ones, with the help of Track Laying Equipment (TLE). PQRS is faster and more efficient than manual track renewal, and can improve the safety and performance of railway tracks.
