Soundproof Tennis Ball Drum Stage : • How To Build A Soundproof Tennis Ball Drum...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While Toad's Turnpike is not the best known Mario Kart song I definitely had a connection with it. I stumbled upon the song on my itunes one day and I couldn't get it out of my head. I became obsessed with the song. At that point I decided that it was going to be my next cover.
The style of this song is perfect for me. It has a jazz fusion feel to it with happens to be most of what I listen to. I had so much fun recording this song. The bass is simple but perfect. It really sets the feel for the entire song. I added small synth stuff of course but for the second half I really wanted to change the song. In addition to the guitars I added a small organ part and percussion parts. When I recorded the bongos I knew I wanted a groove/solo part. I also could only do a couple of takes before the neighbor downstairs got irritated so left it all to improv. Of course the most fun part was the drums. That is another part I left to improv. I spent one afternoon recording the drums but when I listened to it the next day I wasn't happy with it and rerecorded the whole thing. I had some ideas floating around for the solo but it seemed to change with every take. I really wanted to keep with the jazz fusion feel of the song so I just pressed record and let the drums some naturally. I also was able to obtain a second tripod so I got a chance to use a third camera to film the drums. Thanks for watching and reading this much!
